For immediate release:
With almost 14 years behind the very successful Corner Kitchen restaurant, the management team has decided to re-cast our Dinner menu. As a leader in the food scene here in Asheville, we have always tried to make mostly local food in a hand-crafted tradition. This has been a winning combination, both with our guests and our culinary staff. Where else in town can you work with an ever-changing menu (changing nightly) reflecting the best the seasons and the farmers have to offer?
To keep things even more interesting and to give our patrons the opportunity to taste more foods at a reasonable price, we have expanded the Medium Plates. Ranging in price from $12 – $20, the large selection of scaled down entrée style plates is sure to interest and please our loyal customers and pique the interest of newbies. Of course we will continue to have full sized entrées for those who look for a more traditional approach. Oh, and don’t forget to order your soufflé with your entrée!
A little about our Executive Chef, Josh Chapman:
Josh Chapman came to Corner Kitchen with a winning combination of “school of hard knocks” and culinary academics. We are pleased to be able to grow someone from a very good and caring cook, to an all-around Sous Chef and in the last year, Chef de Cuisine and now Executive Chef.
Growing up in a house hold where your dad is a chef and your mom loved to cook and garden, the gathering place in the Chapman house was always the kitchen. Both of Josh’s parents played a role in his development toward commercial kitchen. He learned a lot from his father in later years while at the culinary school at A-B Tech. While growing up, it was his mother who taught young Josh how to cook and preserve vegetables. Come and try the latest in Josh’s developing culinary style. He is ably assisted in the evenings by Sous Chefs Jason Sweeney and Miguel Morales.
Westmoreland & Scully is the name that encompasses three related but distinct food service operations: The Corner Kitchen, Chestnut and Corner Kitchen Catering. Each has become an Asheville icon in it’s own right. The Corner Kitchen is set in a beautiful little house dating from 1895 in Biltmore Village. Chestnut is in more of an “urban” setting at 48 Biltmore Avenue. Corner Kitchen Catering has a facility that produces restaurant-quality food for any and all types of events from box lunches to elaborate weddings.
